Voici Paris Modernite’s Photographiques, 1920 – 1950 (2012) Edited by Quentin Bejac and Clement Cheroux, Paris: Centre Pompidou. ISBN: 978-2-84426-584-5.
This is an accompanying book to an exhibition held at the Centre Pompidou in Paris between 2012 and 2013, illustrating photographs of Paris in the modernity style taken between 1920 and 1950 by many great photographers such a Henri Cartier-Bresson, Man Ray, Erwin Blumenfield, Germain Krull and many others. I purchased this book from my charity bookshop and when looking online for an image of the front cover I discovered that it is very collectable. The book has some essays as an introduction but alas it is all in French, I’m not sure if an English was produced.
Examples:
Etude publicitaire pour Paul Poiret, 1926, Germain Krull.
La Coquille et la Clergyman, 1927, Germaine Dulac.
L’Oeil, 1930. Jean Moral.
Etude de nu, 1929, Yvonne Chevalier.
Quais de Seine et péniche, 1927, Jean Moral.
